Anti Bullying Week and One Kind Word  - November 2021

Spider web of contacts.jpg
Year 4 created a spider web with wool as they passed kind comments to each other.

 15 November 2021

Year 3 did some work around Odd Socks Day and thought about what makes them different and unique and how they can encourage one another with kind words.odd socks.jpg

The theme for this year's Anti-Bullying Week is "One Kind Word." Ethos group have been discussing what they want to do to share this theme in school. We recognise that we have been focussing the week on kindness for the last few years and will take this up again.

Odd Socks Day

We started Anti Bullying week with 'Odd Socks day to celebrate what makes us all unique. There were some very interesting combinations of socks! We remember that we are all special in God's eyes and In the Bible there's a verse that says, 'I am fearfully and wonderfully made' (Psalm 139:14).

What is Friendship?

Poetry is a powerful way to express your feelings. Listen to this poem written by one of our children and think about what it means to you. How does it make you feel? Could you write your own poem to express your feelings - happy or sad?

Double page spreads

Year 6 have created these amazing double page spreads to show their learning in anti bullying week.

We have been thinking about how each of us can make a promise to make our school a safe and happy place for everyone and what we can do to make a difference.

We have thought about the difference between falling out with our friends and making up, and what bullying really is. It is Several Times On Purpose (STOP) - when someone is intentionally upsetting or hurting someone more than once or twice.

We know if bullying is happening we can STOP it - Start Telling Other People.

Jigsaw promise - keeping our school a happy and safe place for everyone.

Watch our videos to show what the difference between falling out and bullying and what you can do to stop bullying.
