Collective Worship
Collective Worship at St George'sCollective Worship is a central part of life at our school and all children and staff engage fully with it. It is always distinctively Christian, reflecting our vision and allowing us to explore our Christian values and consider ways we can put them into action in our daily lives. We use Windows, Mirrors and Doors to ensure our exploration includes Looking out, Looking in and Looking ahead. We hope that our worship helps us to learn something new, to reflect on our own feelings and behaviours and to think about how we might behave or do things differently in the future. Worship also gives us a chance to feel closer to God and to be able to talk to him through prayer and song. Monday: Whole School Worship Tuesday: Class based Worship Wednesday: Worship is led in Church by the clergy based on our value Thursday: Songs of Praise Friday: 'Let your Light Shine' Celebration Worship |
Our value this half term is CourageBasic to Christian faith is the claim that God is always present in every situation. This belief has led to great acts of courage that have included facing danger and opposition, overcoming fear, making a stand for what is right and encouraging others to persevere. Through prayer people have found the strength to be courageous.
Through Collective Worship, we will explore: How we help people in our school community who are facing difficulties. How we encourage others to share their fears and worries. How our school deals with fall outs and when friendships go wrong. How we demonstrate our core values to everyone in our school community. What strategies we have in place to build positive friendships. |
