Subject Vision Science
We are very proud to announce that St George’s has been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark award for our work in Science.
With support from the University of Hertfordshire and working in collaboration from The Primary Science Teaching Trust, the one-year school improvement programme has enabled the school to engage in outstanding science practice and has shown our commitment to excellence in science teaching and learning.
PSQM enables confident, knowledgeable, reflective leadership which results in an improvement in the way in which science is planned and taught across the whole school.
We are very proud of this huge achievement and hope that you will celebrate in our success.

Science is the practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. At St George’s, our vision is to provide a science curriculum that enables our children to explore the world around them; one which stimulates and excites pupils’ curiosity about the wonder and miracles of God’s amazing creation.
As part of Science Week, we had a visit from our local high school who shared a range of exciting scientific experiences with us to inspire our love of science.
We spent the week exploring the different areas of science and collaborating with other classes to share our learning.
Take a look in the gallery to see what we learnt.

Throughout the year, we share our learning in class through our working walls and also display our key learning as part of our visions in action display in the hall.
