Remember Me

The Last Supper

The Gathering

Have a special object with you which reminds you of a special time in your life. (it might be a special toy or a photograph of someone or something you brought back from a special holiday)

Think about your object – Why do you like it? Why is it special to you? Where do you keep it? How do you treat it?

Light a candle and listen to the story:

The Story

On the night before he died, Jesus had supper with his friends.

He took some bread and thanking God for it he broke the bread.

Jesus gave the bread to each of his disciples and said, “Take and eat, this is my body which is given for you, do this to remember me.”

Then he gave his friends some wine saying,

“Take and drink, this is my blood, which will be shed for many. It will be a new promise which God will make with all people for the forgiveness of their sins.

Reflection

Jesus was a special friend to his disciples. Jesus shared the bread and the wine to help them remember him as their special friend.

Share some bread and juice and remember Jesus as a special friend.

Who is your friend? Why are they special to you? Write a prayer for your special friend.

Prayer

A Prayer for My Friends: Lord Jesus, thank you for my friends, for the games and fun that we play, for the secrets we share, for the laughs and giggles, for the good times and bad. Please help me to be a good friend to them. Amen.
