We break up for the holidays today. We hope you enjoy the 2 weeks off. We will re-open on Monday 12th June.

Nursery

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Nursery Home Learning.

We will regularly add activities, games and stories for you, to go alongside the things that we sent home.

We'd love to see how you are doing and the things that you are getting up to, so please send lots of videos and photos to Nursery@st-georges-hyde.tameside.sch.uk.  We promise that we will reply to all the messages that we receive.

Take care, and we look forward to seeing you all again as soon as we can.

Useful websites

There are lots of good websites that have some lovely activities and games for the children to play, or ideas for you to have a go at together.

Here are just a few.  If you have any favourites at home - let us know what they are and we can share them with everyone else.

www.youtube.co.uk You can find your favourite songs and stories here.  Some of our favourites in Nursery are Five Little Ducks, Five Currant Buns and Five Little Men in a Flying Saucer.  We also like I Can Sing a Rainbow and Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, We're Going to the Moon.

www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies There are lots of clips, programmes and activities to do on this site.  Numberblocks is a good one to start with.  There are also lots of stories to listen to.

www.woodlandstrust.org.uk/naturedetectives There are lots of ideas for games and activities that you can do in the garden.  Use the school pages.

www.theimaginationtree.com  Lots of ideas for things to make and do together.

Oh, a milkshake

This is one of our favourite dances. Click on the picture above and have fun dancing and singing along.

Have a go at making your own milkshake....

Pour half a glass of milk, add a scoop of ice cream and a mashed banana (or any other fruits you like), mix well and enjoy.  Yum yum!

Five Little Ducks

This is one of our favourite number rhymes at school.  Click on the picture below to sing and count along.  Have a go at drawing your own five little ducks, and Mummy Duck too, if you want to.  You can use your ducks to count and swim away as you sing.

I can sing a rainbow

We love to sing this song in Nursery - it is a favourite that someone always asks for every day!  Can you sing along when you click on the picture above? Can you remember that signs that go with the words?

Lots of people have rainbows in their windows at the moment, to show that we have hope for the future.  Have you seen any?  Perhaps you could make a rainbow for your window.  Send a photo to Nursery@st-georges-hyde.tameside.sch.uk and we'll put all of our rainbows together.

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom

We really enjoyed the story of Whatever Next in Nursery.  Watch the video below and you can listen to the story at home.  We had lots of fun with boxes, boots and picnics telling the story at school, can you find any things at home to help you tell the story?

We learnt the song Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, We're Going to the Moon.  Click the video below to listen and sing along.

Flying to the moon

Baby Bear went to the moon in a cardboard box in the story.  Maybe next time he'd like to go in a rocket.  Can you make one for him?  I had a go at making a rocket using what I had a home - can you?

Easter

Easter is a very special time - when we remember that Jesus died for us, and came back to life.

Click here to watch the story below to find out what happened.

Dinosaur Stomp

We love getting our bodies moving when we are in Nursery to this song.  Have a go at home, and see if you can get your brothers and sisters to join in too.

Click here for some dinosaur counting games!

We've been learning how to count in Nursery, and to recognise numbers.  Can you practise your counting by joining in with this dinosaur song?  It's a new one, I hope you like it.

Below are some links to some dinosaur number activities that you can print and cut out to practise counting and reading numbers at home.  If you can't print them at home and would like a copy, please send me an email and I will post them through your door.

What will I find at the seaside?

This is the question we would have been finding out about and answering if we were still in school, so this week we will be looking at different seaside activities - just like we would have had we still been in school.

Click on the link below to listen to a new song about the sea.  Can you sing along?  Lots of the words are the same, I bet it won't take you long to learn it.  There are lots of sea creatures in the song.  Can you think of any more?  Send me a picture of another animal that you know that lives in the sea.

Have a go at counting with this underwater counting game. Click here to play.

Click here to play a game to practise using the vocabulary we were learning at school - big, bigger, biggest, small, smaller, smallest. How many did you get?

Playing at the beach is always fun.  Beach balls are a great way to get active and to develop our muscles and our coordination.  Have a go at the activity below and pretend you're at the beach - you could even get your bucket and spade and your beach towel to help your imagination!

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Once I caught a fish alive

This is one of our favourite songs in Nursery.  Can you sing along?  Remember to count your fingers as you sing.

Cosmic Yoga

Get active and get your body moving with this underwater adventure.  Copy Jaime and have fun underwater with these yoga poses.  Get your brothers and sisters to join in with you, or even ask your mummy or daddy.  Enjoy yourself, and send us some pictures to show us how well you did.

The Wheels on the Bus

This is another of our favourite rhymes in Nursery.  We will be sending home lots of rhyming activities in this week's pack.  Rhymes are a great way to listen out for sounds - something we need to be able to hear to read and write.  What is your favourite rhyme?  Take a photo or a video of you singing it and we'll put it here for all your friends to see.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

This is our favourite version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at Nursery.  We like because the star an the owl are friends.  Can you make a friend using some shiny foil?
