Autumn 1

Learning Challenge - Did Victorian children love to learn?

Zones of Regulation

The whole school has introduced the "Zones of Regulation" approach which looks at different colours representing different feelings.  The children recognise what colour zone they are in to help explain their feelings.

Blue zone - sad, tired, bored

Green zone - happy, calm,

Yellow zone - excited, silly

Red zone - angry, out of control, mad.

The children created their own "Zones of Regulation" spinner plates to point to how they are feeling at various times of the day.

Autumn 2

Why is London special?

Maisy Goes To London

We are using the book Maisy Goes To London to find out more about all the famous landmarks in London!  There are so many and Maisy tries to visit lots during her visit to our capital city.

A Tour of London

As we are unable to actually visit London - we have followed the Gecko on his tour of London!  We have seen lots of the famous sights and interesting landmarks.  It is such an amazing place!

A Tour of Buckingham Palace

Have look around the Queen's Palace!  It is absolutely huge!  Which is your favourite room and why?

Spring 1

Learning about the past

Responsibility

Our value this half term is Responsibility, we have heard lots of bible stories in our Collective Worships about people being responsible  and how they show responsibility for themselves and other people. The children made responsibility rainbows at home and in school as a promise to be responsible for something.

Jesus is Special

We have been learning about how special Jesus is.

We have heard the story about when He Feeds the 5000 people with only 5 loaves and 2 fishes.

We then thought about what we would take on a picnic to share with Jesus.
