Summer 1 2026
Our value this half-term is TRUTHFULNESS and HONESTY. Acacia class have been thinking hard about how they could've made better choices in the past when they haven't been honest. In our Worship sessions, we've been used our 'Windows, Mirros and Doors' to look into the future about how we could be better in telling the truth. We also wrote a prayer to help us remain honest in all aspects of life.

SATs
We are eagerly awaiting the week of our SATs assessments. We have a range of emotions in class, but most of all we are excited! We've worked extremely hard all year, but especially in the last few weeks. We are doing a lot of maths and english revision and it takes most of our day up - well done for perservering Acacia Class! We are looking forward to our Hollowford trip once we've complete the assessments!
Maths
We are working hard in maths now practising all of our fluency skills as well as leanring new knowledge all ready for our SATs. We've recently been looking at rules of angles, and getting used to measuring them correctly with a protractor. This involves remembering lots of specific rules and names for angles. We've had our last maths booster session ready for SATs. We are SO proud of Acacia Class, they been practising their maths skills and fluency consistently, well done!
English
English is one of our favourites at the moment. Once again we are in the midst of our SATs writing, currently half way through our George and the Dargon re-write. Acacia class are fully invested in this write, and are using all of the skills we've learnt on the ladder of success. The success criteria includes this such as fronted adverbials, semi-colons, hypens and commas in a list. Year Six are including so much in their writing!
Other Learning
We are really getting stuck into other aspects of school life. Music is exciting at the minute - we are learning the play the djambe drums, as well as writing our very own song for our leavers service. In art we have made our own Frida Kahlo statues, and decorated them just as she looked! We're now moving onto look into art from different time periods. Our reading sessions are going very well. We are reading the text 'When God Came to Cathleen's Garden' - it is quite a humourous text!
