Spring 2 2026

Our value this half-term is FORGIVENESS. Acacia class have been thinking hard about how they forgive, and the grudges they carry around. In our Worship sessions, we've written a 'teaspoon prayer' to say thank you, sorry, and please to God, as well as thinking who they need to forgive in the future by turning over a new leaf.
World Book Day 2026
Acacia class LOVE to read! We take every opportunity in class to read for pleasure and use the library every day. We were excited to celebrate World Book Day this year, especially with a special CDAT competition. The children had to design a potato as a book character - we know Year Six are extremley creative so this was perfect for them. Have a look at our smashing poatoe characters!
Maths
We are working hard in maths now practising all of our fluency skills as well as leanring new knowledge all ready for our SATs. We've recently been looking at algebra, area and perimeter. As well as this, the extra booster sessions after school are working a treat - Year Six have learnt so many skills in these sessions just showing how important time is! Well done Acacia Class.
English
English is VERY excting at the minute - Year Six are loving writing a non-chronological report about a dragon they've created. After sketching out our dragon desgin and labeling it, we worked hard to plan our report, thinking about appearance, diet, habitat and special traits. We ensured that the plan had all aspects from the English ladder to success on, including adveribials, varied punctuation, hyphens, semi-colons and parenthesis. Here are some of our dragon designs...
