Year 4 were met by a scary Roman  soldier when they arrived in Chester. They became part of the Roman army and got into the turtle formation using their swords and shields. 
After marching back to the museum they were transported back in time and had a tour around the interactive Deva museum where they heard about food, hygiene, Gods and fighting in the amphitheatre. 

At the end of the day they were able to take part in different hands-on activities such as dressing up and digging for artefacts. They had a great day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCIENCE-

We have been loving our science lessons this half term.

We were using our noticing skills in science as we observed the changes to a squirt of foam burst on a plate. The difference in a short amount of time was amazing to see. An easy experiment to repeat at home. The classroom smelt great afterwards and we all had clean hands too 👍

We have been investigating melting as part of our science lessons on changes of state. We observed chocolate melt and made some crispie buns to share with the class and teachers.

 

HISTORY

To finish off our learning in history we invited our parents into school and we sang some songs about the Romans and showed off our learning in our books. We were able to take home our homemade Roman headdresses.

MATHS

In maths we have been practising for our times tables test and were given a pack of goodies to take home and use. We played some of the dice games in the classroom which were good fun.
