Remembrance Day 11/11/2025

At the start of this half term we pause to remember and show respect and gratitude to all those who served and sacrificed for peace. We came together in prayer to honour the memory of all those who have shown courage and kindness in times of war. Year 6 made brilliant poppies and wore them with pride, whilst also writing their own prayers.

Anti-bullying week 10/11/2025

We stood together to stand up against bullying! Year 6 did a lot of thinking and reflecting on how we can all stand up for kindenss and peace both in and outside of school. We all wore odd socks to celebrate our differences and learn to respect everything that we do.

Learning

This half term we have been learning many new and interesting things!

In English we have started to look at non-chronological reports. We began looking at the features, what's included and how the reports are set out. By the end of the half term we will have our very own assessed non-chronological report on a 'Perfect Pet' from the story 'Barnabus' - it was only right to carry on with this story as the class loved it!

In Maths we are working extremly hard on fractions. As a class we are knucling down on all the rules that come along with fractions, as there are many different methods...We've learnt how to simplify fractions, add and subtract fractions, and now we are working hard on word based test questions in preperation for our SATs.

Learning Challenge

It's our Leanring Showcase this half term! We are so excited to share with the rest of St George's and our grown ups all of our interesting learning about the Golden Age of Islam! We have been studying the city of Baghdad and how it had a huge impact on our life today...from housing the first ever university to the role models and inventors and doctors who made amazing break throughs still used in todays society. the round city of Baghdad has captured the year 6 class and we have produced some beautiful pieces of work.
