Autumn 2 2025

English

In English, we have started at a new unit of work. We have started looking at the book 'Shackleton's Journey'. So far we have looked at the front cover and created our own versions of the book and we have researched some of the crew members which embarked on the expedition. 

Maths

In Maths, we have moved onto our next unit of fractions. We have looked at finding equivalent fractions and being able to recognise equivalent fractions. After this, we have moved onto comparing fractions and looking at improper and mixed number fractions.

Learning challenge

In our learning challenge this half term, we are looking at biomes and climate zones. We are paying particular attention to the polar regions. We have started by looking at lines of longitude and latitude. 

Science

We have started a new science unit all about forces. We have started by defining what a force is and looking at the force of gravity.
