Autumn 2 2025

Our Value for this Half Term is Peace

"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you" Isaiah 26
We have begun some amazing learning about our school value: Peace. We enjoyed reading Peace at Last by Jill Murphy and used the story to help us explore what peace means, how we can show it in our daily lives, and the places where we feel most peaceful.
We also made an interesting discovery: Jelly Babies were originally called Peace Babies, created after the First World War to celebrate peace!

We have wrote an acrostic poem to share our thoughts;
Peace can make you feel happy
Everyone likes peace
All the world wants war to end
Calm
Everyone needs peace
Rememberence Day

As part of Remembrance we learned about the significance of the poppy and what it represents. We reflected on its importance as a symbol of respect and remembrance for those who served. Together, the whole school joined in a minute’s silence to honour the soldiers who sadly lost their lives in war.
