Our Value for this Half Term is Hope

Speech on Hope - The Video Ink

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

As part of our learning on our school value of Hope we have been exploring what the word hope means aswell as thinking about our own hopes and wishes for the future. We then discussed how we can provide hope to overs. We have done this by begining to collect food for the foodbank to give hope to people who don't have enough food.

English
We noticed something strange had happened in our playground.  We noticed metal parts were scattered all around and wondered what was going on.  We were detectives and tried to work out what might have happened.  We found lots of evidence and asked lots of questions to try and find out more.

Science
We have been learning about Autumn in our science lesson. We went on a wet and windy walk to see what we could find. Keep your eyes out for the signs of Autumn when your out and about.

Music
We are enjoying our music lesson with Mr Roast on Wednesdays. We learnt a song using body percussion.  We also used the Glockenspeils and learnt how to play 2 keys.

Fairtrade Fortnight
We have learnt lots of things about Fairtrade tea and how the Fairtrade farmers get a fair price for the work they do.  We baked chocolate Malteser cup cakes to sell at the Fairtrade "brew it up" event last Friday. We learnt some interesting facts about tea and created a Fairtrade information sheet.  We also looked at the journey of tea.  We created a human chain, looking at all the people involved in making tea before it was sold in the shops and supermarkets and created our own tea journey.  We have learnt so much about Fairtrade and will continue to support Fairtrade in our school as it is very important.

PE
We have been enjoying our PE lessons with Mr Gove.  We have been concentrating on running, looking at the skills involved.  We used hurdles to help us with running and jumping.
