Autumn 1 2025
Year Six
Year Six have settled straight in, demonstrating that they are ready to be the oldest in school by showing exceptional Year Six standards. They have rose to the challenge of taking on different roles and responsibilities around school. The children applied for the roles they wished to persue around school. We now have prefects, official helpers, worship leaders, sports ambassaders, reading ambassadors and other special roles. The class are loving the responsibility - which they have taken in their stride.

English
In English this half term we have started to read the book 'The Barnabus Project'. The class are very intrigued by this, as Barnabus himself sent us the book to read! He sent a letter, along with the book explaining that we are only allowed to read a few pages a day. We are only 5 pages in and have already learnt so much about Barnabus...He doesn't live an ordinary life! We are currently in the middle of writing an informal letter to the half elephant, half bear to reassure him and offer any advice to him as he is worried and confused about where he is at the moment. Year Six cannot wait to find out the ending of the story!
Maths Year Six are really perservering at the moment in maths as we are working with numbers upto 10,000,000. From firstly learning place value of numbers including ten millions and hundred thousands, we are now facing collum addition and subtraction with these numbers, including tricky word problems. We are learning the most efficient ways to do our working out, and noticing patterns between numbers. Although some word problems are quite intimidating and proving to be quite difficult, we are trying to be the best that we can be and push through.
