Welcome to Year Three!

'Let all that you do be done in love'

Please take a moment to explore our fantastic learning by clicking on the links above!

Welcome and General Information

Reading

Please ensure your child brings their reading book to school every day and continues to read regularly at home for at least 10–15 minutes daily. This consistent practise makes a significant difference to their learning.

Library books should be returned each Thursdays so that children can exchange them.

Times Tables

Please support your child in practising their times tables at home. By the end of Year 3, children are expected to know the multiplication and division facts for the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables.

Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) is a great way to support this learning. We recommend that children spend around 10–15 minutes on TTRS per day to build confidence and fluency.

Spellings

Children will receive a list of spellings to practise each week in preparation for their spelling check every Wednesday.

They are also expected to know the Year 3/4 statutory spellings by the end of year 4 so it would be helpful if these could be practised at home.

Home Learning

Home learning is set each Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday.

Additional Information

PE is on a Tuesday. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school.

Thank you for your continued support.
