Our Fairtrade Awards

In September 2014 we gained our Fairaware and Fairactive awards. We are now working towards our Fair Achiever award.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2014

What a fantastic mixture of things we did in school between 24 February and the 9th March!

The noticeboard in the hall shows some of the different things we’ve done. The focus this year has been on Fairtrade bananas.
Craft club  made some fantastic decoupage bananas and leaves. Cookery club made delicious recipes using Fairtrade ingredients. Different classes had homework relating to Fairtrade such as finding out banana facts or jokes and Year 2 did classwork on the topic. We had two assemblies on the theme and School Council led the Friday celebration assembly. We all came dressed in our pyjamas and paid a pound and then this money will go to Traidcraft Exchange which is a Fairtrade charity. We will be able to send from school £ 200 which is wonderful.Thank you everyone for supporting the event. Everyone looked fabulous in their onesies and pyjamas! We all sang “Bananas in Pyjamas” and after assembly we had either bananas dipped in chocolate or banana milkshake which only cost 20p. School Council got to lick the bowls!!  They were interviewed by Mr Hewitt from the paper and asked to explain why we are interested in Fairtrade. All the work we've done will help towards us achieving Fairtrade School status.
