Our Ethos Group 2016 - 17

The members of our Ethos group this year are: Sumaiyyah, Noorin, Dawn, Zaineb, Asim, Sabha, Hamdi, Tahiya, Kate, Arman, Joel, Holly, Shamsun, Mayeesha, Samiya and Wajiha.

This year one of our main projects is to create an outdoor reflection area. We have thought about some designs and we have cleared the quiet area ready to start work in the spring term. All the children will be able to use the reflective area to think about our school values and to have somewhere quiet to sit and reflect.

Every half term we have the Fairtrade stall. It is the last Thursday of each month. We sell things like chocolate, jewellery, trinket boxes and lots of other goodies. Remember to bring your money to spend – at least 30p!

We are also planning another Ethos conference for schools to come to learn more about Fairtrade. We are busy planning activities which we think everyone will enjoy. We got some of our ideas from the Fairtrade conference in Liverpool. We have not set a date yet but we hope to do our conference in the summer term.

We have collected shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child again and we collected 22 boxes in just two weeks! The Ethos group took the boxes to Shoezone where they were being collected. Everyone in school brought something to put in the boxes. We thought about our values compassion, hope, thankfulness and friendship.

Our values for the spring term will be Thankfulness and Compassion.
