World Kindness Day and Anti Bullying Week

Mrs Hewitt started off the week talking about Kindness and all staff were given tokens to give out whenever kindness is spotted this week and in the days to come. Choosing to be kind rather than mean builds strong relationships and a happy school.

There have been circle times where we've looked at different aspects of respect. We've looked at the fact we are all different and that's good. We've thought about how friendships should be equal and what to do where the balance goes wrong and one person tries to control another.

We thought about how our words can damage and "break" people and what to do to put things right. We've looked at how labels are unfair as everyone can change.

ETHOS group led the Collective Worship on Wednesday and explored the difference between bullying and falling out.  They did different dramas showing different problems we face each day and how we need to be brave and make choices we can be proud of. The children came up with fantastic ideas of how to solve conflict and how to be peacemakers as our value this half term is PEACE. We were reminded that we should always tell if someone is being mean to us and to get help.
