Anti- Bullying Week 2019

Friendship Friday and Anti-Bullying Week

As part of Friendship Friday and Anti-Bullying week, Year 3 created friendship badges for our classmates, wore odd socks to celebrate our differences and looked at ways to deal with issues arising in our friendships.

On 7th November during collective worship we explained about the plans for the week to come and about us all being secret angels to each other. On Friendship Friday we coloured in pictures during lunchtime of Elmer the friendly elephant  and Year 1 went on a walk together just like Elmer's Walk.

Each class  were given a classmate's name for them to be a secret angel to for a week and every adult in school took part too. There were some lovely messages of encouragment and appreciation amongst staff.

The children spent lunchtimes making loom band bracelets to give to each other and to think of ways to be kind.

Ethos Group led Collective Worship on 12th November and we watched the video produced by the Anti-Bullying Alliance saying "Change Starts With Us". Ethos group gave us examples of how we can show kindness, by caring, smiling, giving compliments, showing respect and not leaving other's out. Every person can make a difference and can make school a happy place for everyone. We sang the "Greatest gift of all is Love" to remind us about the love described in 1 Corinthians 13.
