Home Learning Activities for week beginning Monday 13th July 2020


Last week of setting learning

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well and have had a good weekend. This week will be the last learning that I will be setting for you. 

We will be doing transition days next week so if anyone has any library books or reading books at home please can you bring them with you when you come in. You will find out soon what the arrangements will be.

I will see the girls on Tuesday after school from 3:30- 4:00 and the boys on Wednesday from 3:30- 4:00.


Monday 13th July 2020

English- Get someone to test you on 20 spellings from the word list from Year 3 and 4.

Maths- Spend some time on Times Table Rockstars.

*Daily Challenge- ZOOM. This will be our last session today. Make sure you have 1-15 written ready for a quiz and some plain paper, a pencil and a black felt tip pen or crayons.

English- Click on the spellzone website image next to this and play the spelling games   https://www.spellzone.com/word_lists/games-407576.htm 

Maths- Click on the BBC Bitesize game Guardians- Defenders of Mathematica to practise your maths. Have fun choosing your characters.

Wednesday 15th July 2020

English- We have read the story of 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes this year and really enjoyed it. For the next few days I want you to write a story about the Iron Man and his friend. His friend can be any character you want it to be and they can go anywhere and do anything. Remember what makes your writing successful and use your imagination!

Maths- Have another go at the BBC Bitesize game Guardians- Defenders of Mathematica. Click on the link above to play it. 

*Daily Challenge- Choiceboard activity.   

Thursday 16th July 2020

English- Continue writing your story about the Iron Man's friend. 

Maths- Find 5 programmes on the television and write their start times down and end times. Could you write the times as analogue, in digital and in words? How long have they been on for?

*Daily Challenge- Use the Rainbow Exercise Wheel to do your daily fitness challenge.  

Friday 17th July 2020

English- Finish off your story and check for spellings, punctuation and grammar. Read it to someone and see what they think about it.

Maths- Times Table Rockstars.

*Daily Challenge- Go for a nice walk with your family. It's not too far to walk up to Werneth Low. Finish off your Choiceboard activity if you need to.
