UPDATED 26.5.20                               HALF TERM HOLIDAYS

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well. If you celebrated Eid this weekend, I hope you all had a fantastic safe time with your family.

I am not going to set you any extra work or online (MyMaths or Purple Mash) activities this week as it is the holidays. If you do want to do some extra work then there are lots of ideas at the bottom of the page for you to do. I still need your video messages too so please don't forget to email me them if you haven't done so already. Click on the book link below to read the story about being worried about Coronavirus.

Most of you will know Mrs Ratcliffe as the teaching assistant in our Nursery. Mrs Ratcliffe has been working in the nursery at St George's for over 40 years!! That is a fantastic achievement and I'm sure she has seen lots of changes in that time. However she has decided to retire and Friday will be her last day working with us. We will be very sad to see her go, but she will still be helping with the Stay and Play group and the Friday ladies group. In the current situation we can't do a big celebration and send off as we would have liked to do, but we will do something for her later in the year. If any of you would like to send a message or card or anything at all into school for Mrs Ratcliffe, we will ensure she gets them by Friday. I'm sure lots of you and your children will have very fond memories of Mrs Ratcliffe and will want to wish her well in her retirement.

Enjoy your week off. Stay safe.

Love Mrs Twinn xx

Week 9- Famous and Significant People

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well and doing ok? This week's challenges are linked to famous significant people. It would be lovely if you could make a link with the significant people who have made a difference to the health service especially during these tricky times. Perhaps you could research when the NHS began and or find out about people who have looked after the sick and are still remembered today. Click below to find out more.

It is also Mental Health Awareness Week this week and it is a really important time for you and your family to think about how you are feeling during this challenging time. The theme is kindness so click on the poster below to find out some of the things you can do to help your mental health and also others too. You could always try the 7 day challenge. smiley

It would be lovely if we could all send a message to the class which would cheer us up. I'm sure you've had a day when you were feeling a little sad and I think you would have been cheered up by watching a message from someone in class. We are all missing our friends and it would be lovely to see them again. You could get an adult to record you saying a short message or showing something you have done which you could show to the rest of class. I will add it to the class webpage so we can all be cheered up by watching it. Don't forget the Music and Mindfulness page is good to sing to the school songs to lift our mood too.

I'll be dropping off another pack this week. Keep safe and alert!

Love from Mrs Twinn xx

Worship song challenge

Worship Song Challenge

A reminder about our ‘worship song challenge.’ We have had some entries already and are looking forward to seeing lots more. Take your favourite worship song as the theme, and reflect this in whatever way you want. This is an opportunity to be as creative and imaginative as you wish, it can be a piece of art, a drawing, a painting, a poem, a photo, a short film or anything else that you can think of. It could be based around the whole song, it’s title or a line or verse of the song. It’s really is up to you. Think about our displays in school or the work you have done for your values homework.

Once you have created your piece of artwork, take a picture of it, write the title of the song and write a brief description of what it shows. Also take a picture of you with your work. Email both your pictures to Mrs Hewitt music@st-georges-hyde.tameside.sch.uk

I know how creative you can be, so am really looking forward to seeing all your entries!
