Monday 29th June - New packs!

English - Half of day 1: Children read a report about Lego Star Wars and then revise features of reports. They then read three more reports about different games and identify and explore the technical vocabulary.

Maths - Half of day 1: Provide some teacher input, using the PowerPoint presentation* on multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. If children can access this, they will hear the voice-over on the place value grid. They use a place value grid as their model when multiplying and dividing.

One or two of your choiceboard challenges this week.

Make a list of all the colours in your bedroom!

Wednesday 1st July

English - Children read another report and look again at the features of reports. They play some games on CBeebies and then write a report about these, drawing on the features of reports to do so.

Maths - Day 2 – Children can work through the Learning Reminders to rehearse how a ‘function machine’ changes the input into an output. Drawing on the teaching from yesterday, they understand division as the inverse of multiplication.

One or two of your choiceboard challenges this week.

Daily challenge: Convince your friends to wake up early and join us on Zoom at 8:30 - 8:40am each morning... you can even bring your breakfast!

Friday 3rd July

English - Provide some teacher input, using the PowerPoint presentation on present and past tense.  If children can access this, they hear the voice-over teaching which make the exercises much easier to do.  They read a fun poem and use the Portrait Poem template to write their own version.

Maths - Provide some teacher input, using the PowerPoint presentation* on telling the time on both analogue and digital clocks. If children can access the PowerPoint, they hear key points explained. They practise recording analogue and digital times, first to five-minute intervals and then to one minute.

Daily challenge: Make lunch for the grown-uup looking after you and write a short description of how you made it.
