There are lots of activities in the document above to have a go at - choose your favourites and do them as many times as you like.  Let us know here at Nursery how you got on and which ones you have chosen to do.

Create a brighter day

Brighten up someone's day by showing that we care.  Can you use what you can find in your house to make a loveheart to display in your window?  There are some ideas below. I'll be making one to put in the window at Nursery. Send a photo of the one that you have made to Nursery@st-georges-hyde.tameside.sch.uk and we can put them on the webpage to share with everyone else.

You can listen to the song A Brighter Day by clicking on the link above - it's a favourite of the older children in school.

Making breakfast

Look at one of our Nursery friends making breakfast in the sunshine for his brother.  He used role play skills and lots of talking while playing in the garden.  Brilliant job!  Can you try making something for someone?

I can sing a rainbow

rainbow song

We love to sing this song in Nursery - it is a favourite that someone always asks for every day!  Can you sing along when you click on the picture above? Can you remember that signs that go with the words?

Lots of people have rainbows in their windows at the moment, to show that we have hope for the future.  Have you seen any?  Perhaps you could make a rainbow for your window.  Send a photo to Nursery@st-georges-hyde.tameside.sch.uk and we'll put all of our rainbows together.

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom

whatever next(1)

We really enjoyed the story of Whatever Next in Nursery.  Click on the picture and you can listen to the story at home.  We had lots of fun with boxes, boots and picnics telling the story at school, can you find any things at home to help you tell the story?

We learnt the song Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, We're Going to the Moon.  Click on the picture below to listen and sing along.

st george flag

You could try to make something for St George's Day.  Perhaps you could make a flag, or a red rose, or maybe a shield using some boxes and tinfoil that you have at home.  Maybe you could make a picture of a dragon, or St George himself.

Exercise time

Here's a video of some family exercise time.  I'm impressed with how fast they can run!  I think we may have a marathon runner in the making here!  What exercise and outdoor fun have you been having?

What will I find at the seaside?

This is the question we would have been finding out about and answering if we were still in school, so this week we will be looking at different seaside activities - just like we would have had we still been in school.

A sailor went to sea

Click on the link below to listen to a new song about the sea.  Can you sing along?  Lots of the words are the same, I bet it won't take you long to learn it.  There are lots of sea creatures in the song.  Can you think of any more?  Send me a picture of another animal that you know that lives in the sea.

Underwater Counting

Have a go at counting with this underwater counting game.  Click the picture below to play.

Story - Alone Together

This story is to go with the pack you will receive this week. There are different activities for you to do based on this story.  Alone Together is a lovely story with an uplifting message reminding us that even though it might feel like we're alone, we're alone together.

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Nursery Home Learning.

We will regularly add activities, games and stories for you, to go alongside the things that we sent home.

We'd love to see how you are doing and the things that you are getting up to, so please send lots of videos and photos to Nursery@st-georges-hyde.tameside.sch.uk.  We promise that we will reply to all the messages that we receive.

Take care, and we look forward to seeing you all again as soon as we can.

Story time

Do you remember reading the story of Handa's Surprise on World Book Day, when we wore our pyjamas to school?  What stories have you been reading this week?  Take some photos and send them to school and we'll put them here to share with your friends.

Family Fun

Here is one of friends having lots of fun at home with his family.  What have you been up to?

Flying to the moon

Baby Bear went to the moon in a cardboard box in the story.  Maybe next time he'd like to go in a rocket.  Can you make one for him?  I had a go at making a rocket using what I had a home - can you?

Easter is a very special time - when we remember that Jesus died for us, and came back to life.

Watch the story below to find out what happened.

easter storyeaster egg hunt

In school at Easter, we usually decorate eggs and go on an Easter egg hunt - there's usually some chocolate ones hidden too!

Can you decorate some eggs - real ones that you can paint, or cut some egg shapes out of paper and use things you can find around the house to decorate them.  Hide them around your house and your garden for your family to find.

There are some ideas to help you below.

Dinosaur Stomp

The Wheels on the Bus

This is another of our favourite rhymes in Nursery.  We will be sending home lots of rhyming activities in this week's pack.  Rhymes are a great way to listen out for sounds - something we need to be able to hear to read and write.  What is your favourite rhyme?  Take a photo or a video of you singing it and we'll put it here for all your friends to see.
