Year 5 Visit to London

On Friday, Year 5 visited London to see the many attractions the capital city has. It was a busy day where the children got to see all of the main attractions. Although it was a long and busy day,  Year 5 had a great time and felt privileged that they could visit so many impressive attractions in one day. Year 5 have now been inspired to find out more about the attractions they saw and can now consider, 'What makes London a cool place to live?' with a first hand experience of the capital city.

London Art

Year 5 have created pieces of artwork to reflect their experience when visiting London.

Friends, Fun and Fitness Week

Year 5 have had a great week.

On Wednesday we teamed up with Greenfield Primary for a sports afternoon, we made lots of new friends.

We have also been on a learning walk to Werneth Low, we were learning to appreciate our local wildlife and have lots of fun.

Gee Cross  Holy Trinity were kind enough to invite us for an afternoon of friendship building. We enjoyed visiting another school and being shown around by some new friends.

Important Notes

We are now in our final half term this year! I can’t believe how quick time has passed! It is going to be a very busy term as there is still a lot to learn and lots of fun to be had by all.

During this learning challenge we are going to visit London and explore what makes it such a special city.

READING- It is very important that your child is still reading at home. The benefits of reading with an adult daily have a huge impact. Please ensure the children are bringing their reading books into school to change them frequently. Don’t forget they also have a library book to enjoy.

HOMEWORK- It is great to see the continued support parents are giving children to complete their choice board homework. Just a reminder, homework books must be signed by a parent and handed in on a Wednesday so that they can be marked and prepared to be handed back on the Friday.

PE KITS- Please remember to keep your PE kit in school so that it is available for all PE lessons.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING- Thank you to those parents who came to watch the puppet shows last half term. I’m sure you would agree that the children’s efforts paid off. It will be good to see how they choose to present their learning this half term.

Don’t forget Year 5 will be a part of the pantomime this half term. Have a great half term!
