Welcome to Year 5 - Spring 2018

Visit to Jodrell Bank

Year 5 at Jodrell Bank

To start Year 5's new space themed learning challenge, 'Is there anybody out there?' they have visited Jodrell Bank space education exhibit. As well as seeing the enormous Radio telescope there, they took part in lots of science based education workshops. They found out lots about how scientists are still discovering things about space today and where our planet is in our solar system.  It was incredible to sit inside Jodrell Bank's inflatable planetarium, where Year 5 took a journey through our night sky to learn about what is visible from earth.

Important Notes

We have already made a great start to 2018, the children have come back into school with a positive growth mindset.

READING- It is very important that your child remembers to bring their reading book to school EVERY DAY and takes it home to read at night. The children won’t have set reading days but are encouraged to read whenever an opportunity arises.

HOMEWORK- Please continue to support your child with their homework. Homework books must be signed by a parent and handed in on a Wednesday so that they can be marked and prepared to be handed back on the Friday.

PE KITS- Please remember to keep your child’s PE kit in school so that it is available for lessons.

Thank you for your continuing support.
