Stone Age morning at Dowson Woods

During our Fun, Friends and Fitness Week we took a walk to Dowson Woods, where we travelled back in time to the Stone Age! We created shelters, made a fire and then made tools that would help us with our jobs of hunting, gathering and building!

Foraging for food on Skara Brae

This week we have been learning about Skara Brae and discovered that the inhabitants were probably farmers and foragers. We spent the afternoon investigating what it meant to forage for food and discovered the difficulties with living life before food was readily available.

A special visitor

We were very excited to meet Mr Nuttall’s puppy, Millie. It was amazing to see how children listened carefully to understand how to handle her and it was lots of fun! We enjoyed walking her around the Eco Area and Mr Nuttall was impressed with how many children put their fears aside and soon found how how lovely Millie was!

Welcome back

We hope you had a great Whit holiday and that you are ready for our final few weeks before we prepare to enter Year Four! This is the time of year where children need to be secure with everything that they have learned and ensure that they practice and perfect anything that they don’t quite understand, both in school and at home. Your teachers are always here to help if you need them.

This half term we will be discovering the Stone Age and finding out what we did, before books were invented, through the question 'What did we do without books?'

Summer 2019

During our English we have been finding out how to create a haiku poem and looked at how they were organised into 3 lines with 5,7 and then 5 syllables. We wrote our group versions, reflecting the events in Charlotte's Web that have just happened and then performed them to the rest of our class.

Our Stone Age Stall for Enterprise Afternoon

Good to be Green

Year Three had a fabulous time celebrating our excellent behaviour, following school expectations and being role models. This half term we had an inflatable obstacle course to challenge us and cooled down with an ice lolly afterwards!
