Creating information booklets on Purple Mash

As geographers...

We have been stretching our noticing muscle, comparing maps from the 1890s, 1950s and current maps. We noticed the changes and explained the reasons why these changes have occurred.

Outdoor learning

On Friday we went for a walk to the river. We stretched our noticing muscles and as artists created wonderful sketches of the river. We were even speaking like geographers when we described the erosion and deposition that we spotted along the river!

We had lots of fun with Mrs Wass where we mixed colours and learned how to say the names of colours in Spanish!

How can we change the world?

Welcome back and get ready for a half term of us making a difference, through our whole school question 'How can we change the world?'

We will be answering the question 'Can you spend a penny for someone else?' Where we will look at clean and dirty water, rivers and how we can help those in need of better sanitation by twinning our toilets!

One Plastic Bag

We began our new text during the first week back and were challenged to learn about The Gambia and the plastic problem that the book tells the story of. We have also been exploring lots of Design Technology skills linked to the book.

World Book Day

Science day!

We had a great time adding vocabulary to our lab coats! It was really helpful to have the vocabulary to help us to speak light scientists. We loved working scientifically and got to learn with Year 2 in the afternoon!

Which charity would you choose to support?

We have been busy researching different charities that help change the world. As caring citizens, we have been selecting which charity we think that we should support as our nominated charity for our Spring Fair.
