Year 3 Spring 2019

Chester Zoo

Year 3 had an amazing day out at Chester Zoo. We explored the whole zoo, discovering many new animals and learning about their habitats. We can’t wait to learn more as part of our Learning Challenge!

Peace Trail

Year Three would like to invite you to discover their amazing mosaics, which we created as part of our last learning challenge. You can find them located around our school playground and Eco Area.

As our reward for the amazing learning we have done this half term, including our home learning, we have been baking flapjacks! Here are some photos of our experience.

Welcome to Spring in Year Three!

This half term we have chosen to learn about the world, its locations and climates, making links to how these things support life. Our Learning Challenge is called ‘Does climate make a difference’ and we will begin our challenge with a trip to Chester Zoo!

Please make sure your child brings their reading book every day and be taken home to read every night for at least 5-10 minutes. Library books should be brought in on Wednesday so the children can exchange them.

Times Tables
Please help your child practice their times tables at home.  By the end of year 3, all children should know both the multiplication and division facts for the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables. Keep practicing these daily to help your child achieve their Year Three targets. Times Tables RockStars is a great way of learning times tables and a new challenge is set every week.

Class Assembly

Year Three did an amazing job today (Friday 8th February) telling their family and friends everything the have discovered during our Learning Challenge assembly. We have all learned lots about climate and how this affects our wonderful world! I'm sure you will all agree that they have worked hard to produce incredible learning and used lots of these skills at home, creating their habitats in a box!
