How can we keep God's world beautiful?
We will be learning all about God’s beautiful world and how we can look after it! We will link it to our science learning about plants and flowers and then try to grow our own SALAD!! If we can begin to grow our own food, then there will be less plastic and packaging being put into landfills!
We will also be reading a book called 10 Things I Can Do To Help My World – this will help us to think about how we can become ADVOCATES OF CHANGE to help the world which we live in!
Planting our Salad
We began by planting the seeds and bulbs. We chose tomatoes, spring onions, broad beans, carrots and then even planted potatoes into a grow bag! Let’s hope for some sunshine so they can begin to sprout!
Den Building
We stretched our collaborating muscle and helped our friends to build dens!
Palm Sunday
We read the story about Jesus arriving on a donkey which had never been ridden before. We saw on a video clip that the crowd lay down their coats and waved palm leaves whilst shouting Hosanna.
We pretended to be part of the crowds and 2 children took the role of Jesus.
Our Hill
The children love being outside in all weathers! Look how they use the hill in the rain - all wrapped up and warm of course!
Do plants and flowers need water?
As Scientists, we set up an experiment to check whether flowers and plants needed water. We chose a flower with white petals and put it into water. We added red food colouring to see what happened! We discovered that the stem acted like a straw and sucked up the water which then turned the petals red!
World Book Day
We all came to school ready for bed! We read lots of stories and even designed our own Mr Men or Little Miss. These are on display in our school library.
Science Day
We did lots of science experiments today and then dressed up as a scientist.
