Welcome to Reception in Autumn 2

Whole school(2)

We have been learning a poem called "Crick Crack" using hands and actions to help us. It is about different types of fireworks.  We then went on to create a firework painting in the style of Jackson Pollock.

Wolf in the Snow

After hearing the story of Wolf in the Snow, we acted out trudging through the snow.  We persevered  as the snow turned to a blizzard.  Later on we found some animals trapped in ice, we had to collaborate as a team and persevere to order to free them.  It was hard but we did it!

Tatton Park

We had a fantastic time visiting Tatton Park. We listened to stories, sang songs, saw the animals and met Father Christmas. In the mansion we enjoyed seeing the fairy story lights, it was magical!

Nativity and Crafts

We really enjoyed performing our Nativity with Nursery to parents and family. We had drinks, biscuits and cratfs to make together afterwards.

This half term

This half term our whole school question is 'Can you imagine a world without words?'

The question that we will be investigating is 'Can I tell a story with my hands?'

Termly Booklet Reception Aut2 19

Today we remembered the soldiers who died in World War 1.  We made poppies, played in the tuff tray and made collages out of red leaves and dark pebbles.  As a school, we showed our respect by having a two minute silence as well.

3D Shapes

This week we have been learning about 3D shapes.  We have been involved in lots of fun activities.  We have learnt a song, hunted for 3D shapes outside, matched 3D shapes to everyday objects and built 3D models, naming and describing the shapes.
