Where Children love to learn and learn to love.

Mission Statement

The example of Jesus Christ and the Good news that he brought inspire St George’s school to be a caring and inclusive community in which children love to learn and learn to love.

Welcome

Welcome to the St George's Primary School Website. We hope you find it interesting and helpful when looking for information about our school.

We are very proud of our school and its caring Christian atmosphere. Every child is valued and we aim to provide an education which meets individual needs and allows all children to reach their full potential, whilst developing confidence and a sense of self worth.

St George’s has a dedicated and motivated staff team who work hard to achieve the very best for every child here. We also recognise and value the support parents provide as important partners in their children’s education.

Yours sincerely

PM Walker (Headteacher)

The Christian Value we are exploring this half term is Generosity.

The children have thought about what friendships are, what a good friend is and how to be a good friend to create their class ‘friend-ships’. Again our display is inspired by various artists including Hannah Dunnet. Friend-ships as they appear on the display from left to right: Year two, Year five, Year six, Year three, Year four, Reception and Nursery, Year one.

Building Learning Powers and Growth Mindset - this term we will be focusing on Reflectiveness.

Dinner Money

Dinner Money is now £2.25 per day which is £11.25 per week. Please send dinner money to school on a Monday in a clearly named envelope with your child.

CAKE AND COFFEE AFTERNOON
FRIDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2018 At 2.30 pm in the Hall
A chance for all parents including our new parents to come along for coffee and cakes, and raise funds for the “Dementia Charity”.
Donations of cakes will be very much appreciated.

WALK ONCE A WEEK Wednesdays will be our walk to school day. The badges this year are based on the different seasons. As you walk to school ask your children “what can you see?” “What can you hear?” Part of our 5 ways to wellbeing is to notice what is around us.
If you come in a car, then we have organised a Park and Stride from Millenium Park, on Great Norbury Street entrance. Ms Mees will be there at 8.30 am every Wednesday to walk up with children who can be dropped outside the park, so they can still get their badge

READING Our big push this year is on Reading for Pleasure and ways for our children to enjoy books, stories, comics and other forms of reading. We have lots of new books in school and will soon be opening up our Library for Nursery and Reception parents to come in and choose books with their children. Don’t forget you can join Hyde Library too. There will be Reading Workshops for parents during the Autumn term, so look out for these once the dates are out.
