Welcome to the St George's website. We hope you find it interesting and that it gives you a sense of what our school is all about.
Our Christian vision and ethos is at the heart of all that we do. Every child is valued and included, as we aim to provide an educational experience that meets individual needs and allows all children to feel they belong and know they are loved by God.
We also recognise and value the role that parents provide as important partners in their children’s education and we are here to support you too.
We are very proud of our school and want our children, parents and community to feel proud of belonging to the St George's family too.

Watch our fabulous Year 6 Leaver's video 2020 featuring our amazing journey at St George's. Made under the most unusual circumstances, we're sure you'll agree, it's a fantastic record of our Year 6 memories and aspirations for the future.
We held our fifth annual Ethos Conference in September 2019 on the theme of Hope and Aspiration. It was great to have around 100 pupils and 36 staff members from visiting schools taking part in the day’s activities, starting with Collective Worship led by children from our Ethos group.
The five different workshops explored Hope and Aspiration in different ways - through art, craft, music, prayer and the world outdoors.
Workshop 1 The power of prayer
Workshop 2 Helping hope grow
Workshop 3 Aspirational me
Workshop 4 Hopes for the future
Workshop 5 Hopes for God’s wonderful world
We finished the day by singing ‘City on a Hill’, the new song we had been learning. We also explored further the power of prayer and how to use objects to help us pray.
Our monthly Fairtrade stall was open for the visitors too.

'Let all that you do be done in love' (1 Corinthians 16:14)
The example of Jesus Christ and the Good news that he brings inspire St George’s school to be a place of hope and a caring and inclusive community in which we all love to learn and learn to love.

We have missed doing our Nativity in Church this year but we have thoroughly enjoyed being cretive and producing our 'Real Nativity' in some very interesting locations. This is also the first time we have included every child in school, from Nursery to Year 6, in one single production. Well done to everyone and a big thank you to Mr Halligan in helping us put it together. Click on the link to watch.
Year Three have been practising hard for the CDAT virtual Christmas Carol Service. They chose their favourite song, 'That First Christmas Night'. Have a listen - it's sure to make you feel all Christmassy! We're so proud of them and we can't wait to see the whole of the Service and join in the Christmas celebrations with our other CDAT schools.

We have sent pictures of our amazing Christmas tree to the Methodist Chuch in Hyde for their Virtual Christmas Tree Festival. Click on the picture to see all the other trees and to listen to the songs telling the Christmas story.
