Nursery - Autumn 1 2020

Welcome to our Autumn 1 page! We are so excited about our new big question 'Why do you love me so much?'

Let all that you do be done in love

1 Corinthians 16:14

Love

We are thinking about our value love, who loves us and how we show love for one another. We have listened to stories from the Bible which show love.

We have been getting to know each other and exploring our new classroom. We are making friends.

We made our faces from dough. We looked in mirrors and talked about what we could see. We talked about our facial features.

We have talked about who we love, who loves us and why they love us so much? We have been exploring the value of love through stories. We enjoyed the story Owl Babies. We joined in with the repeated refrain "I want my mummy!" We talked about how our families come and collect us from Nursery every day.

We read Guess How Much I Love You? We talked about how much we love the people special to us. We talked about who made up our family. We brought in baby and family photos and displayed them in the classroom.

We have been learning about Harvest. We hammered golf tees into pumpkins and potatoes. We then opened up the pumpkin and were fascinated to see what was inside. We used spoons to scoop out the seeds and the flesh.

We used fruit and vegetables to make printed pictures. We used potatoes to print heart shapes with paint.

We held our own harvest service during collective worship in Nursery. We said thank you to God for all the food he had provided, and thought about others less fortunate than ourselves. We thought about how we could show love to others by giving generously. We brought food in and donated it to the food bank.
