Family Learning
December 2022
July 2022
The Confident Learning course has come to an end with new friendships made and lots to think about.
Michelle Charlesworth the tutor has loved teaching the group and said in an email:
We are looking forward to continuing with Family Learning in September so watch for the flyers and more information.
June 2022 -Tameside's Adult Community Education (ACE) are now part of Ashton college rather than the council and so can offer new courses. We are planning for September but have asked for a tutor to come to school after the Whit holidays to do a short course for the last half term around Confident Learning. See the office for more details and to sign up.
Family Learning 2021
December 2021
Another group has come to an end which was celebrated with some lovely food! Some of our parents are going on to English classes in Ashton at the Tameside ACE college and building on what they've done in Family Learning. Well done to everyone who came!
We are delighted with the large group that have signed up to do the ESOL course in school. The parents are excited to be back and enjoying meeting and talking together. It is a great way to build confidence and practise English in a safe space.
We are delighted to be able to offer Family Learning again starting on Tuesdays in the Nursery Room. This ESOL course will run from 2nd November until 7th December 2021 and is from 9-11am. Please sign up at the Office as we need at least 8 people for the course to run.
Autumn Term 2020
Sadly, due to Covid 19, we are unable to invite parents into school for Family Learning. We will resume these sessions as soon as possible and are really sorry that these wonderful Monday mornings are on hold for the time being.
Confidence Building - Autumn 1 2019
Our course for the first half of the Autumn Term is Confidence Building with Adult Community Education. The group has welcomed 8 parents some of whom are new to family learning. Each week the members of the group are given things to do at home with their families and then they feedback to the group about how things have gone. The group has gelled well together. The last session is on Monday October 21st.
This term has seen another really good session for our parents. They have enjoyed coming out each Monday and talking, sharing and learning together. They have received their certificates today and are very proud of all they've done and how much they've grown in confidence.
The next course in November 19 will be a phonics course.
January 2020 will be Making Story Time Fun, where you can learn to make and share stories to read with your children and have fun at the same time!
If you are interested in these courses, please contact Mrs McKeown or speak to the School Office.
