Autumn 2- 2022
Jesus says Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. John 14; 27
Peace
Our value this half term is peace. We have started by thinking about how we can be a peacemaker and linked this to peace babies (which we know as jelly babies). Peace babies were introduced to celebrate the end of the First world war. We have written on our own peace baby how we can bring peace to others as well as where and why we want peace in other countries around the world.
Buddies
On Friday we were invited to Kipper's birthday party in the hall by our buddies! We enjoyed some delicious party food baked by reception and we played party games together like pass the parcel and musical statues: we had so much fun! Thank you buddies for our invites and we can't wait to see you all again!
Safe squad
We had some visitors to school to teach us about keeping safe online and in person. We went to 3 different workshops, one about digital safety, another about keeping safe when we are out and what to do in certain situations and finally we looked at fire safety and basic first aid. We had a great afternoon and found everything engaging and beneficial.
Perfect Pets
We have recently created our own perfect (or imperfect!) pets. Taking inspiration from Barnabus, we designed them first, created our project notes on then and then made them using plasticine.
Frida Kahlo
In art, we have been exercising our imagination and creativity by looking at Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Whilst creating our final pieces, we have taken the time to appreciate the beauty in our world and become alive to experiences of awe and wonder.
